EFAA for SMEs responded to the European Commission consultation on “Electronic invoicing – revision of EU rules“.
EFAA welcomes the revision of the EU eInvoicing framework and supports measures that increase eInvoicing adoption, promote the harmonised use of the European standard (EN 16931), and improve interoperability across Member States. EFAA stresses that implementation should remain proportionate and affordable for SMEs and SMPs, with adequate transition periods, practical support, and low-cost solutions. The response highlights the importance of technology-neutral interoperability, integration of eInvoicing functionalities into accounting software, and reducing fragmentation caused by divergent national approaches. EFAA also supports EU monitoring, provided it remains low-burden and contributes to simplification and improved uptake of eInvoicing.
