SAVE THE DATE: EFAA International Conference 2023
May 25 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The EFAA International Conference 2023 will take place in Lisbon on 25 May.
It will focus on how to make the accountancy profession more attractive and how our small- and medium-sized accountancy practices (SMPs) can best attract, retain and reskill talent.
The accountancy profession is navigating challenging times. The regulatory framework is becoming increasingly complex and stringent, automation and AI are threatening to replace more accountants; business and societal changes demand that accountants offer new services. It is, therefore, essential that the profession enrich its talent pool. A combination of reskilling and retaining good people and attracting new talent are vital to the growth and prosperity of the profession.
Existing accountants need to deepen and diversify their mindset and skillset by familiarising themselves with emerging technologies, by learning the new skills necessary for providing non-traditional services such as sustainability advising, reporting and assurance, and by leading multi-disciplinary teams populated with new people.
Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAOs) play a key role in helping SMPs to reskill their people and attract new talent, by providing information, ideas and insights, but also by promoting the key role the accountancy profession plays for the well-being of society in general.
The following keynote speakers are confirmed (more to come):
Monica Foerster, Chair of the IFAC SMP Advisory Group (SMPAG)
Mike Suffield, Director of ACCA’s Professional Insights
More information will be available soon. In the meantime, please save the 25 May in your calendar.
