Tax and Accounting Advisor/ Consultant
EFAA for SMEs is looking for an advisor/ consultant with a keen interest in tax and accounting policy development at EU and International level, who is a quick learner, able to understand technical matters and eager to contribute to EFAA’s mission and become a fully-integrated member of the team.
EFAA’s work is focused on the needs of small- and medium-sized accountants and auditors (SMPs) as well as on the interest of their clients, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the context of today’s fast changing European and international environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Tax matters: draft positions on tax matters and in general positions aiming to the simplification (and if appropriate harmonization) of tax law and to cutting red tape for SMPs
- Accounting matters: draft recommendations and position aiming to the drafting of SMP/SME friendly standards
- Draft replies to public consultation and hearings on the basis of the contributions of the experts of the EFAA Accounting and Tax EG
- Support the Chair of the Accounting and Tax Expert Group in drafting the agenda and identifying relevant topics;
- Develop guidance tax developments impacting SMPs and how SMPs can best prepare for these developments
Profile:
- Academic background in accounting, economics or political science and/or significant professional experience as a accountancy practitioner
- Good understanding of EU policy-making and influencing processes and strategies;
- Experience in advocacy towards the EU and with proven track record of policy and advocacy successes;
- Excellent command of oral and written English and of at least one other EU language;
- A real team player, proactive, communicative with a positive personality, a strong sense of responsibility and the drive to get things done together;
- Able to adapt to changing circumstances, resistant to stress;
- Capable networker, able to coordinate and find compromises.
Conditions:
The exact amount will be established on the basis of the experience and qualification of the selected candidate. Payment(s) will be made on receipt of an invoice(s).

EFAA’s work is focused on the needs of small- and medium-sized accountants and auditors (SMPs) as well as on the interest of their clients, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the context of today’s fast changing European and international environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Support the Chair of the EFAA Digital Working Group: draft the agenda, identify relevant topics and high-level speakers for meetings
- Coordinate the work of the DWG to draft replies to EU and International consultations.
- Develop articles for Latest from Brussels
- With the support of the DWG experts draft a short guide
- Contribute to the organization of a 90-minute webinar for EFAA members
Profile:
- Academic background in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Technology, Digital Transformation or Technology Management/or relevant professional experience
- Good understanding of EU policy-making and influencing processes and strategies;
- Experience in advocacy towards the EU and with proven track record of policy and advocacy successes;
- Excellent command of oral and written English and of at least one other EU language;
- A real team player, proactive, communicative with a positive personality, a strong sense of responsibility and the drive to get things done together;
